Best Rooftops in the World

Who doesn’t love to sit on a rooftop bar or restaurant with the most amazing panoramic view, ambiance and a cooling breeze? I for one love love love it! So I bring to you some extraordinary rooftop locations in my Top 10 Best Rooftops in the World.

1. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

The newest and most breathtaking blow-my-mind rooftop has to be Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Sands SkyPark, 200 metres in the sky, is a state-of-the-art engineering feat sitting on top of 3 hotel towers with an impressive 12,400 square meters of space.

2. Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai

A magnificent rooftop view – two roof terraces offer guests stunning vistas: From the 360-Bar on the roof of the Marina-Restaurant, guests overlook the coast of the Persian Gulf, and the elegant Uptown Bar on the 24th floor of the hotel, where the twinkling lights of the city and the soaring heights of the Burj Al Arab hotel can be seen.

3. Sirocco at The Dome Lebua, Bangkok

Located on the 63rd floor, the Sirocco at The Dome at lebua (a collection of restaurants) is the world’s highest al-fresco dining, so imagine the view! It never fails to leave one mesmerized with a breathtaking view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river, and the amazing Skybar. We’ve dined and it’s breathtaking!

4. Grand Hotel Central, Barcelona

Barcelona my hometown. Amazing landscapes, sea, Gaudi buildings so why not enjoy a fabulous rooftop view in Grand Hotel Central in the Barrio Gotico. Simply amazing! The hotel is gorgeously stylish designed exuding hip and chic.

5. The Ritz-Carlton Moscow

Incredible panoramic views of Moscow, The Ritz-Carlton is pure decadence and elegance. What could be better than to relax in front of breathtaking views of Red Sqaure.

6. St George Roma, Rome

A gorgeous new boutique hotel in one of my favorite European cities, I love the view from St George Roma. The splendid terrace is home to the exclusive Roof Top Lounge Bar where you can sip a cocktail and admire the breathtaking and enchanting view over the rooftops, domes and terraces of Rome.

7. Barrio Alto Hotel Lisbon

We’ve stayed in this hotel when we were visiting Lisbon and this is most definitely the most charming boutique hotel located perfectly in the centre of the capital. And the most charming part of this hotel? The rooftop. We read our books there, had tea and simply enjoyed the breathtaking view.

8. Nomiya, Paris

Sadly this is a temporary restaurant in Paris but what a gorgeous concept with breathtaking views! Nomiya was designed by French artist Laurent Grasso, is a 12-person izakaya. It’s part of the Culinary Art Home project at the  Palais de Tokyo, Nomiya is designed to resemble the interior of a glass gift box; one that just happens to have a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower.

9. 360 Istanbul, Istanbul

When I first arrived in Istanbul I was blown away by her beauty. Even more so when I visited 360 Istanbul, an amazing rooftop restaurant and bar with … yes you guessed it 360 degrees panoramic view of Istanbul.

10. Skybar Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

How can I go without mentioning Kuala Lumpur’s amazing Skybar at Traders Hotel. Fantastic views of the Petronas Twin Towers and the city… magic. So don’t be surprised the next time you visit Frog & Princess and they take you here…

I love chilling out on rooftops, so the more the merrier!

  1. Sirocco is a personal favourite too (was just there last week (again!)) – your post is very timely as heading to Roma in 2 weeks’ time and will definitely head to St George for some cocktails!

  2. Oh and speaking of Marina Bay Sands did you hear Ku DeTa is taking up the rooftop bar spot?! I live in SIN so that’s definitely going to be a weekly destination for us for sure 😉

  3. Hi Sya, many thanks for your comments! Yes I heard that Ku De Ta was going to be up there at Marina Bay Sands, can’t wait for that! 🙂
