Here is my pick of the most incredible hotels that I’m lucky to have stayed in, that make these the world’s top 10 best legendary hotels:
1/ HOTEL DU CAP EDEN ROC – South of France:
The Hotel du Cap sits on a hill commanding a full 22 acres of gardens and woodland on the Côte d’Azur. From the 19th-century château, a broad carriage walk rolls down to Eden Roc the beach club seafront, the hotel is impressive . Clientele is select and back in the old days, Hotel du Cap was infamously known for being “cash only” – it now accepts credit cards.
2/ HOTEL LE BRISTOL – Paris, France:
Located opposite the Palais d’Elysees on the fashionable shopping street rue Faubourg Saint-Honore, Hotel Le Bristol is the most chic, elegant and refined hotel in Paris (Even President Sarkozy dines there with Carla Bruni-Sarkozy).
3/ THE BERKELEY – London, UK:
The Berkeley is an elegant, discreet, luxury and contemporary designed hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, the chic shopping district of Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Don’t be surprised if you bump into Victoria Beckham or Madonna there.
4/ HOTEL CIPRIANI – Venice, Italy:
On the tip of the Giudecca island, and a boat ride from St Marks Square, lies one of Venice’s most prestigious hotels, Hotel Cipriani. A pure oasis set in an atmosphere of calm and seclusion, Hotel Cipriani is the ultimate Venetian address. Simply la dolce vita!
5/ IL SAN PIETRO – Positano, Italy:
A truly remarkable hotel sculpted in to the cliffs overlooking the sea and the bay of Positano. This strikingly attractive building, built so as to be in perfect harmony with the natural beauty of this magical stretch of Italian coastline. 40 mins from Naples or a short helicopter ride to Il San Pietro’s private helipad, what strikes you is the elevator ride inside the cliff to take you down to the seaside terrace. Incredible!
6/ THE NEW YORK PALACE – New York, USA:
Just steps from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue, The New York Palace is a legendary hotel located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. 7/ THE PENINSULA – Hong Kong:

8/ THE ORIENTAL – Bangkok, Thailand:

A paragon of contemporary luxury and rich in history, the hotel is a mythical landmark of Bangkok.
9/ FOUR SEASONS CHIANG MAI – Chiang Mai, Thailand:
Located in the beautiful northern mountainous region of Thailand known for elephant rides and hill-tribes, Four Seasons Chiang Mai is an incredibly stunning, mythical hotel.
