Circus Restaurant Kuala Lumpur: Light Cibles

Light Cibles Malaysia proudly presents our latest lighting design project in Kuala Lumpur with the newly opened restaurant in Pavilion Mall, Circus.

Operated by The Eatertainment Group (of Al-Amar fame), Circus promises to become one of KL’s trendiest dinner and drinking spots, with delicious international cuisine prepared by Spanish Executive Chef David Caral and a slew of inventive cocktails from their mixologists. And if you find the night still young after your dinner ends, wait until the DJs and live jazz performances take centre stage.

Ideally situated in premier shopping mall Pavilion KL’s latest lifestyle quarter, Fashion Avenue, Circus, the latest cool bistro and cocktail lounge showcases funky lighting effects by Light Cibles and artistic décor throughout. The lighting design approach varies according to the various moods desired – from day to cocktail to evening  to late night.

The Week of Taste Malaysia

Under the patronage of the Embassy of France, the MFCCI (Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce), the CCE (French Foreign Trade Advisors), the Alliance Francaise, and the Lycee Francais de Kuala Lumpur, for the first time ever, “The Week of Taste Malaysia“ will be held from the 15th to the 21st of October 2012.

Launched in France in 1990. La Semaine du Gout or The Week of Taste was first to encourage French children in schools to become more educated about food. lt spread successfully across France to become a major event. Today, The Week of Taste is celebrated around the world not only in France but also in Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Romania, Laos and Australia.

During this special week, events like “The Tables of Taste” (special events and promotional menus at restaurants), “The Lessons of Taste” (demos by food professionals in schools to culinary students), “The Workshops of Taste” (workshops open for public), and the “Grand Bazaar” are organized with the same purposes: TO MAKE PEOPLE LEARN ABOUT AND TO LOVE QUALITY FOOD.

CORE VALUES of The Week of Taste
-The education in the taste of consumers, especially for children
-The diversity of tastes and flavours
-The transmission of professions, know-how and expertise. The transparent and educational information on products, their origin, their production and their specificities
-To encourage behaviour and food consumption as part of a balanced lifestyle

Numerous workshops and a grand bazaar held in Publika will allow to gather young and adult, curious and gastronomes to share a friendly moment of pleasure and discovery, allowing to put “the taste” forward every time!

Pangkor Laut Resort

We recently had a wonderful weekend getaway to YTL’s Pangkor Laut Resort located on the West Coast of Malaysia. With a seriously impressive list of awards and accolades to its name such as Best Spa Resort (Winner) CNNGo! 2011; Best Luxury Destination Spa  World Luxury Hotel Awards, 2011; Best Hotel voted by SLH Club Members Small Luxury Hotels of The World, 2009 - it’s no surprise to you that we often recommend this hotel to our friends overseas.

Pangkor Laut Resort is located on the privately owned island of Pangkor Laut off the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it is a tropical isle with rocky outcrops and white sandy beaches fringed by a beautiful rain forest. We recommend the Spa Villa with your private water chalet and balcony. We spotted all sorts of wildlife from giant monitor lizards to hornbills on the resort. Great dining facilities and our faves were Fisherman’s Cove and Uncle Lim’s Kitchen for dinner and lunch at Royal bay Beach Club. Of course we also visited the Spa Village which is world renowned doing their signature Bath House ritual.  See why we loved it so much! It’s the ideal romantic retreat.
